The Association of Community Complementary Therapists developed from a group who worked together during the Foot & Mouth crisis and after the floods in Cumbria. During these times of great stress, we offered practical support to local people through holistic treatments (complementary therapy sessions).

ACCT Group Meeting
We have successfully applied for registered charity status (Charity No. 1116115) to help us work towards our goal of providing affordable therapy treatments in a healthy living/wellbeing centre for the people of Carlisle. Ultimately, we believe complementary therapies should be available free to all, but our current short-term objective is to offer reduced cost treatments (£10) to those who would otherwise be unable to access them, subsidized by general clients who pay a market rate for the service (£25).
Our concessionary rate is available to people on benefits & low incomes and people affected by the Jan 2005 flooding, as well as members of local voluntary & self-help groups. We are also keen to offer treatments to carers, to help support them in their often demanding role.
Our charity is managed by our Committee and Trustees. Iris Rogan is our Chair, Jen Musgrave our Secretary and Sandra Wilson our Treasurer. For contact details for Iris and Jen, please see their individual information in the section 'Our Team of Therapists' or see the last section of the website 'Contact us'.
